Day 64 - Slow Day at Lee Roy's

My good friend Jennifer, who is a paranormal investigator, has a booth in Lee Roy's Flea Market and offered me a space to do my face painting out of. There was a little misunderstanding on both our parts, but we have worked it out. Jennifer is the founder and creator of H.A.U.N.T. which stands for:

Hunting
And
Understanding
National
Terrors

If you live in a haunted house or know of a haunted place you want investigated, then visit their website or call 276-608-3034 They are located in Abingdon, VA.

I did do some face painting, but the business was really slow today and I will have the photos up in tomorrows blog.

Oh, and if you are interested in finding out more about my partner, Aline Backes, visit her website at http://fineartabackes.com and if you mention you were referred by me, she will give you 50% OFF your portrait order.

See you tomorrow!

Day 63 - Wasp & 3 New Tutorials

I have 3 NEW tutorials up on my KatmandewFBA 365 Tutorials website and you have 1 last day for the sneak peek as it ends midnight on March 5, 2011. Ruthie Lansing has a  FREE 1 week subscription since I used her request for an Insect in one of my tutorials. You can get the same deal if you make a suggestion/request and I use it in a tutorial.

I have decided that not all my tutorials will be face painting demos, but they will be information on common questions asked by the face & body art community. If you have a question, go ahead and send me an email to katmandewfba@gmx.com and if I make a video, I will give you the same deal as above.

The first non-face painting tutorial covers Practice, quality vs. quantity and professionalism when on the job. The second video I created is about the different brands of paint and how they work for you.

My last tutorial that I made was the face you saw in the video, a wasp. I had fun doing this and as I said in the video, this is my version of an insect. Nick & Brian Wolfe have done an insect in their Extreme Face Painting, 50 Friendly/Fiendish Step-by-Step Designs book and you can find it on Sillyfarm.com or Amazon.com They did a grasshopper and I did a wasp! I hope you like it and if you do a version yourself, please post the photos on my Facebook fan page.

Day 62 - New Tutorials & Contest!

I have made 2 tutorials today that I am posting to the KatmandewFBA 365 Tutorials Website. The individuals who suggested the tutorials will be receiving a FREE 2 week subscription since the sneak peek is still going on. Once the sneak peek is over all individuals whose suggestions I do as tutorials will get a FREE 1 week subscription so they can see it and show their friends. This is a great incentive!

I have a 500 subscriber contest going on right now and when I reach my goal, I will randomly choose a winner. If you are local, you will receive a FREE body painting or Birthday party, if you are out of my area, I will give you a FREE private weekend workshop and if you live overseas, I will send you your choice of a face or body painting product valued at $50 or less. Tell me if that sounds good!

Also you see I have a green screen in the back. If you want, you can download my video and manipulate it all you want, just make sure you post your edited version as a video response so I can see what you did!

Below are photos of the Zombie face I did in one of my tutorials. Hope you like it!

Day 61 - NO Power!

Just a few ramblings, since my day was filled up trying to figure out why our power was turned off for most of the day. As you see, it is back on, because I have written this and posted it.

Most of everything I talked about, I wrote in yesterdays blog entry. So please don't expect me to rewrite it.

One thing I do want to mention is that I do have some watchers who live in my area and I will be doing a contest where they can win a free Body painting or birthday party gig. So watch out for that video.

What else can I say that I didn't in the video? I will just leave you with 2 words of wisdom:

HAVE FUN!

Day 60 - Not much Until the End!

This is just a short video and there will be probably more unless I am doing tutorials.

Right now I have 450 subscribers on YouTube and instead of pushing my luck trying to reach 1000, I will settle for just getting 500. With that being said, what prize do you want to get for being a random winner once I reach 500 subscribers? Come up with something I can do, a million dollo=ars is out of the question, so don't even think about it.

Other than that, I need you to supply me with request for face & body paintings you would like to see in tutorials. If you give me a good one, I will do a tutorial and give you a free 1 week subscription so you can see it. How about that for an incentive?

Yes, I have lost my mind, but I am having fun at the same time. I found my grease based Kryolan UV paints and decided to try out my Black Light environment. What do you think? Will it work for my tutorials I am going to do on UV paintings? I hope so and cannot wait for the paints to arrive.

Also, give me some ideas for an outrageous video you would like me to do. If I pick your idea, I will give you a free 1 month subscription to my Tutorials website. So get your brains in gear and submit your ideas!

Visit KatmandewFBA 365 Tutorials to see my videos before the sneak peek ends March 5th at midnight.

Day 59 - Tornado Watch & Update

Well I decided to not do a tutorial because of the Tornado Watch in our area, but it seems to have passed and I am going to do one today.

Michelle Heffner, a fellow face & body painter, posted a link to the NEW Lady Gaga video "Born This Way" which has some pretty awesome face & body painting. There is one part that has a man in a tuxedo with a what looks like a skull face painting with the top cut off and the brain showing. This is NOT a face painting. The gentleman had his face tattooed like that. Lady Gaga does have her face painted to match his tattoo and that is the tutorial I am going to do.

So go to my Tutorials site during the Sneak Peek and check it out. http://kfba365.moonfruit.com

Here is my version of the face from the "Born This Way" Video:

Day 58 - Tri-Cities Flea Market Con't

So today I wa able to finish the tutorial video and will have that up so you can see it later. I did include a small tutorial here and hope you liked it.

Now today was a complete bust as it rained all day and was a little cold, so I did not make any money. But I did make a connection with a photographer and her family for up coming collaborations.

Here are picks from today and you can see the tutorial here http://kfba365.moonfruit.com
